Great Southern Counselling was founded in 2022 by Carolyn Campbell when she recognised the need for genuine, professional and compassionate mental health and wellbeing counselling in the region. Carolyn is passionate about supporting and empowering individuals, couples and families to achieve wellbeing and discover purpose for their lives. Her holistic and trauma-informed approach integrates a variety of evidence based, person centred therapies, individually tailoring each session for her clients.
Carolyn is registered with the Australian Counselling Association and is also an accredited Professional Supervisor. She has over 15 years experience working therapeutically with adults, young people and their families in schools, not for profit organisations and private practice. Her passion for counselling began when she recognised her ability to empathise and walk alongside people struggling with their mental health. She has further developed her passion to include supporting professionals experiencing vicarious trauma and stress (such as counsellors, carers, teachers, pastors and leaders in business) in their workplace. Her counselling experience includes children presenting with complex behaviours in residential care, facilitating men's behaviour change programs in prison, and supporting adults, children and emerging adults through mental health challenges and stages of development.
Carolyn's areas of interest include anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, grief, trauma, identity, life transitions and spiritual formation.
